Welcome to the Association of Health Professions in Ophthalmology

AHPO is an organisation that represents the different professions that provide treatment and care for patients with eye diseases.

AHPO statement on Covid-19 emergency

AHPO will continue to deliver apprenticeships and BTEC Diplomas during the Covid-19 emergency. To minimise risks of transmission for our assessors and learners, we have suspended all site visits, and all assessor reviews with learners, mentors and managers will continue online. Where possible, with the agreement of employers, assessors will undertake summative workplace assessments via video link. Where this is not possible, summative assessments will be suspended until site visits can resume.

Guidance from the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) for apprentices, employers, training providers, end-point assessment organisations (EPAOs) and external quality assurance providers about changes to apprenticeships due to coronavirus (COVID-19) can be found here.
